About Us
Come and join the Language, Communication and Interaction Service, our exciting and dynamic team of specialist teachers, speech and language therapists and SEN practitioners, working together as part of the borough’s Specialist Education Support Service, to support to young children with social communication difficulties and autism.
About The Job
The Early Years SEN practitioner post involves:
· The opportunity to work directly with young children with autism/social communication difficulties at a time when early intervention is most significant
· Liaising with staff to model strategies and providing advice
· Supporting parents
· Developing resources for parents and educational settings
· Delivering training to parents and education staff
· Working with other agencies to ensure an integrated offer to settings, children and families
We are looking for:
· Enthusiastic and motivated people
· Experience of working with children with SEND is essential, in particular those with autism or social communication difficulties
· A commitment to supporting the inclusion of children with SEND in all settings
· Practitioners with good organisational skills, who can take the initiative and are able to manage their own time effectively
· A professional attitude to your work and excellent communication skills.
· Ability to work as part of a team
· NNEB, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications
