Scale 5 x 35 hours per week x 38 weeks per year (13.39 - £14.64 per hour)
The salary as advertised is for full time work, the position offered is for part time and term time, actual salary will be adjusted proportionately.
The purpose of the role is to represent and promote Enfield Catering Service. To ensure Food Standards, Catering Mark, Food Hygiene, and Health and Safety Regulations are followed and maintained. To work with the Area Manager to meet the pre-set budgets for food purchases and staffing. To supervise the kitchen operations and allocate duties for staff rota. To manage the on site of the catering team. Placing orders, stock taking, completing all relevant documentation relating to the service, in line with the requirements of the service.
In order to be considered for a Unit Chef Manager position you will need:
A recognized Catering Qualification e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent experience.
Experience in managing groups of staff, delivering on-the-job-training and appraisals
Proven excellence in cooking skills
Ability to exercise budgetary controls and carry out clerical duties
Commitment to maintaining the catering mark standards (Soil Association)
Able to manage the cashless system at site level (if applicable)
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate which will need to be maintained
Proven ability to work on your own initiative
Good organisational and communication skills
Good Knowledge of Health and Safety
Knowledge of nutritional standards for school meals
Excellent customer service skills
