The Role
We invite applications from highly motivated and dynamic individuals with energy and vision, to join our senior leadership team as our School Business Manager. Horniman Primary School is a one form entry school, with one bulge year, currently in year 5. We are a forward thinking and creative school with exceptional children who are keen to learn and a committed and friendly staff team.
The role involves the strategic leadership and management of the financial, premises (including health and safety), human resources and administrative aspects of the school. The post holder will be an active member of the school’s leadership team, working closely with the Headteacher, senior leaders and the Governors, in particular the Chair of Governors and the Resources and Health and Safety Committees. You will need to line manage office and premises staff and the Play Manager, developing your own role to meet the changing needs of the school.
We are seeking an excellent School Business Manager who has experience in strategic planning; heading varied teams of support staff in a school environment, school administration management; finance; budget planning and implementation; procurement; human resources; facilities management; governance and above all should have a sense of humour and be flexible.

Salary details
You will be required to work for 35 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (term time and INSET days plus 3 weeks during school holidays, 2 of which must be in the summer holidays). The post is permanent and the rate of pay is Scale PO4, SCP 37 - 39 pro rata (actual salary approx. £39,959 - £41,787 per annum).

Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as well as qualifications and reference checks.
Original evidence of right to work within the United Kingdom will be required prior to commencement of employment i.e. National Insurance Number, Work Permits or Indefinite Leave to Remain. If the applicant has lived/worked overseas for 12 months or more since the age of 18 they may also be required to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct from the country(ies) they lived/work in at their own expense and provide these for our records.
