Trainee Recovery Worker – Care (Mental Health)

Do you want to work for an organisation committed to employee engagement, where every employee is valued and listened to?  Do you want to be offered excellent personal development, training and supervision to help you achieve your full potential?  Then join Hexagon Housing Association as a Trainee Recovery Worker at our Kirkwood Road project.

Kirkwood Rd is a rehab service based in Southwark SE15 for people with complex mental health needs, recently remodelled in line with the government’s choice and personalisation agenda.  Kirkwood Rd provides 12 self-contained flats, a communal area, and garden ideal for offering clients activities around the creative arts, cooking, gardening and relaxation.

Working alongside Recovery Workers and other Team Members, this entry level role will offer you the opportunity to develop skills and abilities to support people with complex mental health needs and increase their confidence for independent living.  You will have a problem solving approach, the ability to prepare meals, be customer focussed, and have a genuine interest in mental health. You will work 24hrs per week including weekends and early & late shifts on a rota.

This role is designed as a pathway to becoming a Recovery Worker.  If you perform well in the role, you will have the opportunity to become a Recovery Worker following the 12 month traineeship.

Benefits of working for Hexagon include pension scheme, TOIL, and generous annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
