About the role

Being a member of the Council's Access to Education Service, to work in conjunction with the colleagues within the Education Services, SEND, Finance and Building Assets to take the lead role in matters relating to the school place sufficiency planning and to support the Head of Access to Education to develop the Council's Place Sufficiency Strategy by:

  • planning and developing appropriate systems to ensure the effective management of early years, school, SEND and alternative provision place planning, including the modelling of pupil number projections
  • developing and managing the proposals for school organisation changes and statutory consultations on school place and related activities.
  • manipulating and analysing complex datasets, drawing conclusions from data and translating this into pupil place planning strategy
  • engaging and effectively communicating with a variety of stakeholders within the education and schools sector in relation to school place
    planning
  • providing information and advice to school leaders and governors, senior officers and elected members of the Council.

About you

This position will be suitable for you if you are flexible, successful and able to demonstrate continuous professional development. Furthermore, you will be able to act as a role model to others in the team by sharing your knowledge and experience, whilst also encouraging other team members to contribute and share their experiences.

You will have key planning experience including, implementing new ways of working to mitigate demands, leading in dedicated projects workstreams and developing strategic modelling to predict future demands for school places or a similar service.
