Commissioning and Procurement Manager – South London Commissioning Programme
Fixed Term/Secondment until March 2021
The South London Commissioning Programme works on behalf of twelve South London boroughs to commission high quality and efficient services for children and young people.
The Commissioning and Procurement Manager plays a leading role in helping to develop and implement commissioning solutions across two main areas of work: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Children Looked After (CLA).
You will focus on improving outcomes for young people, identifying innovative ways to develop services, build on good practice within our member boroughs and elsewhere, and deliver savings through collaborative working and market development.
This is an exciting secondment opportunity to make a real difference to the commissioning of children’s social care throughout South London. With a proven track record in end to end commissioning, procurement, performance and contract management, you will have a strong team attitude and an eye for innovative service opportunities.
You will lead on the proactive development and management of a portfolio of projects for the South London Commissioning Programme. You will have experience in end to end commissioning at a senior level, managing complex projects, and experience of staff management. You will have social care commissioning experience in SEND and/or Children Looked After services.
Some of the key projects will include:
- Lead on strategic commissioning for the South London Commissioning Programme.
- Work alongside CLA and SEND placement teams to ensure effective commissioning of placements and best use of existing and new frameworks.
- Project manage a range of initiatives that improve social care outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop new and enhanced service specifications with key partners.
- Engage with service users to ensure that commissioned services are reflective of the needs and aspirations of local residents.
- Lead on the procurement of services which are cost effective and of high quality.
- Engage with other sub-regional commissioning bodies to share and develop good practice.
