Do you have experience of working or volunteering in a digital campaigning, policy or communications environment? Shelter are looking for an Assistant Campaigner who is passionate about creating a world where everyone has a safe and secure place to call home.

A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change, with individuals, in communities, across society, and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious and committed individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this important time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.

Shelter was originally founded as a campaigning organisation in 1966 and, thanks in part to our campaigning over the years, housing is now high on the public and political agenda. However, we need to turn this awareness into change that genuinely transforms people's lives. So, we're further developing our ability to inspire a movement to change housing in Britain, with ambitious goals to increase the effectiveness of housing activism right across the country. Part of the job of our Campaigns team is to support and help build that movement.

About the Role
Your challenge will be to support the Campaigns Officer and report to the Senior Campaigner on campaigner recruitment, engagement and mobilisation, and help us develop our campaign's communications. You'll work with the team to develop campaign strategy and supporter journeys, come up with calls to action and deliver online tactics. We'll also rely on you to help out with the team's administration and internal communications and working with the Senior Campaigner to ensure that supporters' data is managed appropriately.

About you
Great at strategic thinking, you have a taste for innovation and bags of creativity and the verbal and written communication skills it takes to deliver quality communications products. You also enjoy seizing opportunities as they arise and being part of timely, strategic and inspiring campaigns. You may possibly have experienced bad housing or homelessness in the past too, and want to change things to help others. Or perhaps you're just keen to further develop a career that's already seen you get involved in digital campaigning or communication and data management. Above all, you're passionate about making a difference to one of the biggest emerging social issues of our day - Britain's housing crisis.

Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
