It’s official! Harrow is a good place to work. In their recent inspection of our Children’s Service, Ofsted noted that Harrow has a strong, effective and stable senior leadership which has led to sustained improvements in both the quality and impact of social work practice for children in need of help and protection, and those in care. They observed we have a culture of high support and professional accountability, but are not complacent. We agree.

Staff say Harrow is a good place to work and vulnerable children and their families have the benefit of good quality help and support.

In the Children in Need Service, we are ambitious for children and to achieve good outcomes alongside them. We are proud of our innovative ways of working for example in the use of dedicated senior parenting assessors to drive forward outstanding assessments and to improve the court skills of SWs through workshops, individual mentoring and training.

In the Children in Need Service we run a Management School within the service which is attended by all, from aspiring to established managers including Head of Service. This approach is designed to allow all to learn and develop our management skills and styles so that we can provide effective leadership to our busy frontline service.

Our social workers are willing and able and extremely committed and they need the best support they can get. Our emphasis is on teamwork and contributing in what is a challenging but rewarding role. With that approach, we achieve well together.

We are excited to announce we have recently re-evaluated this role in the service.
