Communications Officer (Culture and Heritage)

Waltham Forest Council’s Culture and Heritage team is recruiting for a Communications Officer to join the busy team working to deliver the culture and heritage programme and build on our incredible year as the Mayor’s first London borough of Culture 2019.
About the role:
The Communications Officer will support the delivery of the Waltham Forest’s culture and heritage programme building on the communications programme developed during Waltham Forest’s tenure as London Borough of Culture 2019.
The role will support and manage a first-class marketing and communication campaigns to support the culture and heritage programme. This requires devising innovative and creative ways of meeting objectives using the most effective and value for money communications channels available for the specific audiences targeted.
The candidate should ideally have experience in creating engaging content for our social media and website. Experience in delivering arts-based marketing and communications and understanding of the London arts landscape is also desirable but not essential.
The candidate will develop and support a communications and marketing strategy for the culture and heritage programme that includes festivals, projects and grants.
Knowledge, skills and expertise:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent standard or relevant experience.
- Experience in delivering marketing and communications projects.
