The role
Adult Social Care in Southwark is seeking an experienced officer to be a lead in the administrative and finance functions that support and enable the council with its responsibilities for appointee ships, deputy ships and Public Health Funerals.
As part of the Client Finance Team, this role will support a refreshed and proactive approach to service delivery and cross-professional cooperation.
You will have experience of work in a large complex organisation, with a strong background and recent practical experience in support to vulnerable client groups.

The post holder will also need to build effective internal and external partnerships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders to ensure departmental objectives and targets are achieved.
Located in the Client Finance and Personal budgets service, which delivers a range of back office functions, the successful candidate will be required to provide social worker staff and care providing agencies with the advice and support needed for best interest decision making, as well as work with the internal and external agencies that must be engaged when planning funerals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who will support an integrated and modern approach to service delivery and cross-professional collaboration with a focus on accurate and effective communication, timely action and risk mitigation.
While experience of the SAP finance application, social care management information systems and the Microsoft Office Suite will be ideal, the successful candidate is likely to be the one who clearly demonstrates willingness to work with others, an ability to learn quickly, office administration skills, and effective oral and written communication skills.
The post holder will be based at the council's main strategic and administrative headquarters at 160 Tooley Street, London, SE1 and can look forward to working in a busy but mutually supporting environment which also has opportunities for training and career development.
