Enfield’s Planning Service - looking for talented Planners to help shape Enfield’s future

Enfield’s Planning Service is building its capacity to enable successful placemaking in one of London’s most ambitious boroughs. Our multidisciplinary team is progressing a new Local Plan, which will help guide delivery of circa 30,000 new homes alongside jobs, infrastructure, amenities and uses to support Enfield’s existing and future communities, and is taking a lead on enabling high quality design and proactively guiding schemes through the development management process.

Enfield is the first London borough to be awarded £156m funding from the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund to unlock development growth in our borough; and this is just one part of the ambitious plans that we have to shape Enfield’s future. We’re are looking for exceptional candidates to make a contribution to our newly formed Planning Service; a service that brings together Development Management and Strategic Planning and Design in to one collaborative team.

Senior Planning Policy Officer

Permanent contract

36 hours a week – We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements including part time hours, compressed hours, working from home and staggered start and finish times

Grade: SO1 – PO1 £29,766 - £36,711 pa (Dependent on experience)

This role is for a motivated planning professional to join our Plan Making Team and progress their career by helping to drive forward Enfield's new Local Plan and associated planning evidence, policy and guidance and to contrinute to the wider work of the Planning Service.

The successful candidate is anticipated to work on projects and policies that will help define the spatial capacity for growth across different places in Enfield, including identifying how and where circa. 30,000 new homes will be delivered across the Borough and how Enfield's industrial and employment land will be intensified and expanded. The successful candidate will enjoy using Plan Making to positively enable good growth.

We are looking for a talented and committed planning professional capable of delivering excellence as part of Enfield’s ambitious and growing Planning Service . The role will involve collaboration with various professionals and stakeholder engagement.
