Job introduction

 

Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking a Pest Control Officer to join it's dynamic team. The Pest Control and Wildlife Management Department currently offers treatments for rats, mice, squirrels, fleas, carpet moths and cockroaches. It operates on a partial commercial footing, charging private residents and businesses for consultations and treatments.

In addition the service is shortly due to take on domestic treatments in the Council's own housing stock. This vacancy has arisen to help with this additional work.

About the role

 

You must have a good understanding of pest control treatment and proofing methods within residential and commercial properties. You should be able to act in a professional, courteous and sympathetic manner giving advice to occupiers and carrying out treatment for rats, mice and insects.  

You will be required to undertake visits across the whole of the Brighton & Hove area so a full driving licence is essential. The successful candidate should be able to use information technology systems and equipment, to respond effectively to meet our customer needs.

Ideally you should hold the Royal Society of Health Certificate in Pest Control. Consideration may be given to offering training to a suitable candidate who does not have the required qualification.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
