Role Purpose

An opportunity has arisen for a Systems Manager for our Integrated Data Systems, which is essentially, our Master Data Manager system with specialised functions to support our Troubled Families programme, here at Tower Hamlets. IT has played a key role in enabling us to meet the programme’s objectives and has been an integral part of the service transformation journey. We are seeking a capable and competent Systems Manager, who is familiar with the Troubled Families programme:



Key Responsibilities

  • to provide training and support to the Troubled Families team (the primary users of the system) and broader Early Help teams to enable them to better utilise the system;

  • to maintain the data acquisition process and automated “pipeline” processes (within the data hub) of the existing datafeeds into the system;

  • to work collaboratively with the Data Manager, our Software Vendor and other key stakeholders within the Business to extend and configure additional (and existing) datafeeds into the system;

  • to support the on-going development/configuration work to the system, to ensure it continues to meet the programme’s needs e.g. requirements specification, testing etc.

  • and support the longer term objective of Service Transformation, which also includes improving our business intelligence capabilities.



Requirements

Thisrole requires a very good knowledge of databases; understanding of SQL to an advancedlevel (our system is based on Postgres); someone with a good understanding of/experience in managing a similar system; someone skilled in requirements engineering,able to carry out UAT and who can collaborate well with others; and of course,knowledge of the Troubled Families programme will be useful but is notessential.
