Here at Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, we want to deliver the very best services for our people. Our Place Delivery team is at the heart of delivering growth and regeneration projects that will ensure we can do this.

We’re seeking a Principal Development Manager to provide expert advice and help deliver a diverse range of development projects. Reporting to the Head of Place Delivery, you’ll work across the council to support a range of projects from inception to completion.

You’ll also maintain budgetary oversight for key areas of spend, managing and planning for expenditure, providing support and intelligence to influence future resources and budget requirements.

This is an exciting time to join us as we undergo a period of development and regeneration of our populated areas, with a focus on placing our residents at the centre of everything we do.

About you

Most importantly, you’ll have the technical knowledge and experience to deliver a range of complex projects across the council’s People and Place directorates. In addition, you’ll need to be able to keep to strict deadlines, so projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Using your knowledge and experience in delivering high profile development projects, you’ll need to effectively communicate with management and elected members to provide expert advice. These skills will also be vital when negotiating and working with venture partners and third parties.

There is a high level of autonomy in this role. You’ll need to be able to work on your own initiative and be a self-starter, whilst also working collaboratively to support others in your team.

We are looking for people who have a passion for delivering projects and working within place delivery. This role offers you the opportunity to work autonomously on high profile developments whilst having the support of professional colleagues to support and learn from.
