In April 2019 we moved to Hounslow House, a new landmark building located in Hounslow town centre, our new technology will enable staff to work remotely and flexibly to improve the service we provide to residents and to help our staff achieve a better work/life balance. 

About The Team

The London Borough of Hounslow has a proven track record and long-standing commitment to the delivery of affordable housing and is at the forefront of the new era of building new Council Housing. With an ambitious commitment to build 1,000 new council homes by 2022, as part of our Pledge to secure 5,000 new affordable housing, we now have the following new position:-

Service Manager – Governance and Programmes

This new senior position will be responsible for the delivery of a effective support service to the development and supply team. The successful post holder will be responsible for the accounting and governance of our ambitious housing pledge.

Key Responsibilities 

Report to the relevant senior managers including the Executive Director for Housing, Planning & Communities as well as members, in the management and monitoring aspect of the complete housing delivery programme, including the Council own £400m house building programme.

  1. To maintain an effective management and reporting of financial spend of all projects and ensuring it is spent within the allocated month and within budget. 

Your Skills

  1. Extensive experience in managing, monitoring and reporting on multiple housing delivery programmes.
  2. Experience in using project management skills to interrogate and monitor housing delivery and continuously looking for ways to improve the performance.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of the current political drive to accelerate housing delivery and a general understanding of the affordable housing policies and legislation. 

Essential for The Role

Educated to degree level or equivalent. 

Desirable

Experience of managing a house building programme in a social housing context.
