The role

Orient Street is provides overnight short breaks for children and young people aged 5-18 and Adults who have Learning Disabilities, Autism and/or challenging behaviour. We are looking for Team Leads to join our dedicated team within Southwark.

Orient Street has a 4 bedded registered children’s unit and a 5 bedded Adult unit. As a Shift Leader your role is about supporting your Manager and Team Leader (deputising in their absence) whilst working with a team of Support Workers.

You will be responsible for providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for our clients; promoting their wellbeing and maximising their independence. You will hold a QCF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and have experience of working with children, young people and adults with learning difficulties, ideally within a residential environment.

This role includes shift work, and the coordinating and management of care and ancillary staff during a shift, providing support and supervision as required.

We are embarking on a significant transformation programme to strengthen our overnight short break offer to vulnerable children, young people and adults. The residential unit that has been extensively refurbished and the service is being financially invested in and strengthened to ensure that our children, young people and adults receive the best possible overnight short breaks experience.
