Community Safety Intelligence Analyst Fixed Term March 2021
Waltham Forest Council is committed to making our borough a safer place. We are looking for a highly-motivated and skilled analyst to join our Community Safety Intelligence Team and help us to achieve this ambition.
The successful candidate will produce intelligence assessments and briefings to inform the development, delivery and evaluation of key community safety programmes, particularly to tackle violence, criminal exploitation, reoffending and anti-social behaviour. They will also support operational policing, community safety and safeguarding interventions, through timely intelligence to help prevent and disrupt criminal activities and violence.
Advanced analytical skills and a strong understanding of community safety issues will be essential for this role. It will be particular advantage to have experience in:
- Extracting data and interpreting information from police systems
- Data analysis tools including Power BI, Alteryx, IBM i2 Analyst, Business Objects, MapInfo Professional (or other GIS) and Excel
- Producing concise and compelling intelligence briefings and presentations, including through infographics
The role will involve regular contact and engagement with senior officers and managers in Waltham Forest Council and the local Metropolitan Police, so candidates will also need to demonstrate good communication and influencing skills.
Please note that police vetting and clearance will be required as part of appointment to this role; candidates with existing vetting clearance are particularly welcome to apply.
This role is for a fixed term until end of March 2021, with a likelihood of further extension.
