Account Manager (Employer Engagement)

Our team is growing and we need effective employer engagement officers/account managers with experience from a recruitment agency environment. You will be involved with a variety of activities including effective recruitment operations, liaising with new businesses arriving as a result of inward investment and development of bespoke recruitment packages to meet the individual needs of employers.

<!-- x-tinymce/html -->We are hiring Account Managers (employer engagement), with a brief to work across a wide variety of business sectors (hospitality, finance & business, retail, health & social care etc).

All Account Managers are required to have a hands on approach to end to end recruitment, from business development through to candidate selection. The successful applicants will work with hiring managers to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of their business, developing and implementing new recruitment processes and strategies.

All candidates will be responsible for proactively selling our service to employers and then sourcing and screening potential candidates for active and potential job openings, managing online job postings, and maintaining a pipeline of talent.  Postholders will have an opportunity to gain useful experience of working with developers and employers who have Section 106 local labour commitments and will secure a wide range of job opportunities from these agreements.

All officers will be required to provide employment advice and support to residents on contracts that Workplace is currently delivering. This would include, but not limited to,  Work and Health Programme, ESF and DWP  funded contract contracts

Account Managers are responsible for bringing job vacancies and Work-Experience opportunities into Workplace by initiating, developing and retaining links with local employers and through these relationships, sourcing jobs for Workplace. The Account Managers are responsible for overseeing the interest of the employer, working with them to develop suitable bespoke employment pathways, and for screening candidates for roles. This requires a specialist set of skills, including detailed understanding of the employers business and requirements; excellent commercial understanding; ability to build relationships and work with external partners; strong sales skills.

As an Account manager you will need:

  • Evidence of sustained success in a previous marketing or sales role in a similar setting
  • A solid understanding of the local labour market and ability to develop business
  • Knowledge of the Newham demographics and different candidate types
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Confidence, professionalism and pragmatism
  • The ability to manage and prioritise your time and tasks effectively

Our recruitment process is in 2 stages:

  2. Interview and presentation

 

In order to ensure you have the best opportunity of being shortlisted at the initial application stage, please thoroughly read through the Job Description and Person Specification so you understand the role. 

We will require a personal statement along with your personal information. The criteria listed in the Person Specification are all essential to the job. Where the Method of Assessment is stated to be the Application Form, your application needs to demonstrate clearly and concisely how you meet each of the criteria, even if other methods of assessment are also shown. If you do not address these criteria fully, or if we do not consider that you meet them, you will not be short-listed. Please give specific examples wherever possible. 

After reviewing the personal statement we will shortlist the successful candidates. A link will be emailed to the applicants inviting them to book an interview into one of the assigned slots The interviewers will be a panel of 3 managers from across the business. The presentation and interview together can take up to an hour.

You will prepare the presentation on site at our office. Usually we will provide you with 15 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to present.

Following your presentation we will conduct the formal interview where we will ask competency based questions to assess your suitability to the role. Specific examples should be used to highlight your skills, knowledge and experience.
