Children with Disabilities and Transition 0-25 service - Social Workers
We have exciting opportunities for Social Workers to join Croydon in our 0-25 Children with Disabilities and Transition Service.
We are looking for social workers (post ASYE programme) who can demonstrate that they are skilled in managing complex cases, preferably with disabled children or young adults working in our transitions team. Your experience of working in a statutory setting will allow you to operate with confidence and emotional intelligence – making effective assessments, implementing plans, delivering interventions and undertaking court work where required.
It’s an exciting time to join the service as we are currently moving from a 0-18, 18-25 service to a 0-13, 14-25 service as we recognise planning for transitions needs to start earlier. We are committed to doing things differently, taking into account current research and best practice, and are looking for people who want to be part of this journey.
Our statutory service for children and young people with disabilities serve 1200 residents and we need your passion as a social worker, who genuinely care and who want nothing but the best outcomes for Croydon’s children and families.
What has Ofsted had to say (July 2019)?:
“Impact can be seen in the improvements to the overall quality of practice for children including disabled children, as shown through accurate and insightful service reviews, individual case audits of children’s experience.”
“All children are visited frequently, with positive engagement with children and their families and good liaison with other relevant agencies.”
“Staff report feeling valued and well supported”
“Staff have confidence in the senior leaders and speak very highly of them, describing them as visible, available and acting on feedback”
Based on your experience post qualification we offer salary from £37,842 - £45,585 per annum.
In addition to the annual salary there will be a welcome payment of £2,000 (paid at 6 months following successful completion of probation) and a further £1,500 retention package (£750 to be paid at 12 months and £750 at the next retention pay window).
We also offer:
- 31 days’ annual leave
- A comprehensive Learning & Development programme including 5 protected CPD days
- Protected induction days
- A clear career progression pathway
- Support practitioners in undertaking Practice Educator training
- Laptop/Phone with agile work practice
