The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Practitioner to lead our Family Link.

Family Link is a service for disabled children and their parents that links them with another family to provide regular short breaks. Family Link is part of Southwark's All Age Disability Service and as a Senior Practitioner you will be managing a small team of social workers as well as leading the transformation and growth of the team so that more children, young people and families can benefit from the service. The team is based opposite Queens Road Peckham station offering great access to transport in the local area.

As a Senior Practitioner choosing Southwark you will benefit from:

A practice framework underpinned by clear principles, which place the child at the centre of all we do, promote strong partnership working with families, and ensure a strength-based approach grounded in relationship-based practice
Small teams with high managerial support - a lower ratio of workers to managers than most authorities. As well as monthly 1-1 supervision
Regular access to further support and targeted specialist interventions from systemic practitioners and psychologists, embedded within teams
Low caseloads (counted per child), below the national average, and administrative support, to help you spend more time with carers
A competitive salary (Senior Practitioners are paid £40,491rising to £47,274), generous holiday allowance, good pension scheme and flexible working
Ongoing training and career development opportunities

We are interested in hearing from Senior Practitioners who are committed to making a difference for children, young people and their families with disabilities while also being able to develop their skills in offering best value and increasing independence.

We offer access to the local government pension scheme as well as a number of staff benefits.
