We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and diligent SEN Case Officer to support the Special Educational Needs Team in fulfilling its role in carrying out the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment process for children and young people with special educational needs (SEN). The successful candidate will support the service in maintaining effective organisation and data management processes during the statutory EHC needs assessment process and/or related case-work and ensure EHC needs assessments are carried out in a timely way in collaboration with involved professionals and families.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be considered for this vacancy it is essential that you are educated to GCSE level or equivalent and achieved a grade C / 4 or above. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, have excellent verbal and written English skills and be able to type quickly and with accuracy. You will have the ability to cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally. You will be fully proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel & OneNote) and be willing to expand this knowledge as the role progresses. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of SEN and Equalities Legislation (Children and Families Act 2014, Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice 2014, SEND Regulations 2014 Equalities Act 2010). You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently, prioritise your work as appropriate and manage a busy and demanding workload.
This post is for 14.4 hours per week which can be worked be worked flexibly within our service core hours of 9.30 – 15.00 but must include 9.30-11.30 on a Wednesday.
