We are seeking an experiencedand enthusiastic Planning Manager to join Tower Hamlets’ Development ManagementService. Thesuccessful candidate will be part of the leadership team for the serviceand managing a team of 7 officers with responsibility for delivering a highquality planning compliance and enforcement service.
Theteam has been expanded recently and has been delivering a number of area basedimprovement projects and coordinating a multi-team approach to managingconstruction impacts. The new PlanningCompliance Policy which sets out our commitments to service users and we arelooking at how we can utilise technology more creatively to manage and track caseenquiries.
ThePlanning Compliance Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining beneficialworking relationships across services and with external partners, along withengaging effectively with Tower Hamlets Mayor and elected members.
Candidates will need to have a qualification inTown Planning (or equivalent), plus sound planning compliance or enforcement experience.You should be able to demonstrateeffective leadership and management skills and the techniques to support,motivate and get the best performance from your team. Strong communication skills, negotiationskills and ability to drive creative solutions to complex issues will beimportant.
