We are currently recruiting a team of lifeguards to work on our world famous Brighton and Hove beaches during our summer season from 20th May – 8th September 2019.

With over 11 million visitors to Brighton & Hove each year, you will play a major part in keeping our beaches safe and enjoyable for all who use it.
What we are looking for:
A competent swimmer with the physical ability to pass a beach lifeguard course.
You’re passionate about sea safety, clean beaches and customer service.
You have a knowledge and practical experience of 1st aid and incident management.
You’re great at working in a team and have lots of enthusiasm.
You have a flexible and adaptable approach to working environments and hours.
You are happy to work outside in all weather conditions.
You have a cool head in a crisis, can think on your feet and don’t shy away from dealing with difficult situations.
You’re proactive, quick to spot potential problems and you are good at working out solutions using your own initiative.

Full Time; 37 hours per week.
The normal working week is 37 hours, Monday to Sunday inclusive, on a fixed rota pattern. You will also be required to attend in house training throughout the season if recruited.
£17,681 pa (£9.16/hour) plus weekend enhancements

23 x Fixed Term Contracts (20th May 2019 - 8th September 2019),
Casual contracts will be considered to compliment the service dependent on commitment to hours.

If your application is successfully shortlisted you will be invited to attend a swim test
Swim Test: Sunday 7th April 2019
To swim 400m in under 7 minutes 30 seconds (16 lengths of a 25M pool)
If you pass this you will then be invited on to the interview stage.
A first aid & casualty management assessment may well be required at interview
Interviews: 8th - 12th April 2019
Conditional offer: As well as References, Right to Work and DBS checks all candidates must hold a valid UK Beach Lifeguard Qualification before their start date.
