Advert introduction

The Safer Communities Team seeks an exceptional individual to organise and support the multi-agency Channel Panel, collate and co-ordinate referrals, and to source appropriate interventions and case support to safeguard vulnerable individuals from being drawn into terrorism.

‘Channel’ is a voluntary, confidential programme which provides support to people who are vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism. The aim of the programme is to safeguard people from the harm which radicalisation can cause, before they come to harm or become involved in criminal behaviour.

Brighton & Hove City Council has successfully piloted new ways of delivering the 'Channel' which involves the council taking the lead on coordination of the key activities.  This is an exciting opportunity to influence and deliver the Channel programme in the city of Brighton & Hove to achieve better outcomes for vulnerable individuals and for all our communities.
