NEWHAM DESIGN REVIEW PANEL
London is moving east and Newham is at the centre of that change. It is the future of the capital both in terms of regeneration and growth. Newham is London’s number one regeneration priority for the next 25 years and the Council is committed to ensuring that the design of new developments is of the highest quality.
To support this objective new Design Review Panel members are sought to provide expert, independent advice on development proposals within Newham. Newham has been running a Design Review Panel since 2007, in accordance with the principles of the GLA’s Place Review Charter. The new Design Review Panel will build on the success of the existing panel and continue to provide an exemplary design review service.
We are seeking applications from leading professionals for:
Newham Design Panel Members, able to commit to up to 10 full day meetings per year. 2 Vice Chairs will be appointed from the Panel.
Applications are welcome from people working in architecture and landscape architecture, urban design, environmental sustainability, inclusive design, civil and structural engineering, economic viability and development delivery. Successful candidates will also have strong analytical skills, personal qualities of diplomacy and the ability to maintain a tone of constructive criticism.
The contract is initially for 2 calendar years starting on 1st February 2019. Remuneration is set at £400/day for panel members. Pay will be on a pro-rata basis. Up to 4 hours will be paid at half the day rate. Over 4 hours will be paid at the full day rate. Travel expenses from within Greater London can be claimed.
