The Post
 
The post is an excellent opportunity for a professional with supervisory experience and good property negotiation skills. Experience of identifying, sourcing properties for housing and buybacks for regeneration programmes. 

The post involves working across the Council’s buying programmes. This is a significant support role covering various high volume and high value acquisition programmes and support on a broad range of day-to-day residential property issues. 

Negotiating with leaseholders, agents and developers to agree property transactions for the various programmes. Inspection of properties, instructing surveys and overseeing the buyback process. At completion supporting the handover process for properties acquired or sold, including inspection on completion, arranging security, meter readings, and handover to clients.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the Council's property programmes, which is required to achieve a significant number of property acquisitions in Brent and other areas for the council’s housing and regenerations programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in large-scale programmes that deliver property and housing solutions to local residence. 

The Person

You will have supervisory experience and experience of property buying. A good knowledge of property standards, good quality design and construction.

You will display professionalism, good judgement, self-motivation and excellent organisational skills – you are able to manage multiple deadlines for example.

You will be able to establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving the high level of accuracy and confidentiality needed.

You will have experience of the property buying process, good negotiation skills and experience of sourcing good quality properties from the open market.

For this role, you will work with a team of property acquisition and disposal officers, lawyers and surveyors, so good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

You will be RICS registered or aspiring to be a RICS professional and have the ability to drive and a full clean Driving Licence would be desirable.
