About the Role
We are looking to appoint to the role of the Systems Control Officer – Subject Matter Expert in the Corporate Business Systems Team.
The role reports to the Corporate Business Systems Delivery Manager.
The purpose of the role is to provide support and development for Oracle Fusion HCM Modules, working with colleagues in our Payroll and HR organisation to provide guidance, support and technical knowledge in relation to the running of payroll and HCM based processes within Oracle Fusion.
The systems under support include but are not limited to Oracle Fusion, Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service and Legacy Oracle Archive Databases. Oracle Fusion encompasses core council business systems including HR recruitment, employee records learning, Payroll, Procurement and finance.
The key activities of the position will be to:
- Reviewing, responding to and resolving Service Requests and Incidents raised by the Payroll and HCM areas of the organisations
- Reviewing existing processes and procedures that operate through Oracle Fusion Payroll and HCM, to identify opportunities to streamline and improve the processes from a payroll and HCM administration perspective, reducing the time taken to complete the process
- Review any current workarounds in place for Payroll and HCM to resolve any underlying problems that have caused those workarounds to be put in place
- Operating with members of the payroll and HR/establishment teams within one source, colleagues within the Corporate Business Systems team, the 3rd party managed service and systems integrator and Oracle.
- Undertake testing for the implementation of changes
- Provide any training and support to one source staff from payroll, HR and the Corporate Business Systems team.
- Impart knowledge of the Oracle Fusion system, enabling the Corporate Business Systems team to increase their system administration activity within Oracle Fusion.
- Be able to write reports and input to the creation of reports utilising OTBI.
- Be able to specialise in a specific area.
- Be able to escalate issues to and liaise with, external partners and provide support and feedback to them when required.
- Be able to explain complex technical problems simply to managers.
- Be able to plan and prioritise workload and work in a team environment.
- Contribute to process automation and service improvement.
About You
You will need to have direct knowledge and experience of Oracle Fusion system support for the running of payroll & HCM processes and the system configuration of Fusion to enable and support the running of those processes.
You will be able to work with non-technical staff at all levels to senior management, to provide advice and guidance on what may be possible in terms of HCM and Payroll in order to develop and implement system changes.
You should have direct experience in the following areas:
- Oracle Fusion of HCM and Payroll processes.
- Configuration of/changes to Oracle Fusion within the HCM and Payroll modules.
- Experience with reporting in Oracle OTBI & Oracle BI Publisher
- Using a Call Based Management System.
- The smooth running of all payrolls to achieve the delivery of payrolls in Fusion.
- The smooth and effective running of HCM processes within Fusion.
- A reduction in the current number of service requests open and problems with the running of payrolls and HCM processes within Fusion.
- Up to date correct and simple to use documentation and guides relating to the payroll and HCM associated processes which run within Fusion.
- An increase in the knowledge and understanding of the existing payroll, HCM and Corporate Business Systems Team in the utilisation and system administration of Oracle Fusion.
- Experience of working with Agile development practices would be beneficial.
