Housing Supply New Build Coordinator (Grade M, £59,220 - £62,457) - Permanent post
Tower Hamlets Council is looking for a passionate and collaborative housing professional – a Housing Supply New Build Coordinator - to join the Housing Supply Team on a permanent basis, to help take forward a range of projects to increase the supply of new housing in the borough. This role includes management responsibilities and will be suitable for an experienced senior technical officer who will take initiative to co-ordinate and drive forward housing delivery projects.
The Council has an ambitious target of 1,000 affordable homes a year for rent. The Housing Supply team contributes to this through the development of Council owned sites, regeneration of our estates, and enabling Housing Associations and developers to deliver their own regeneration schemes. Our delivery programme has been running for 8 years, with 10 sites currently under construction and many more in the design and planning stages.
We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced professionals, with relevant background in housing supply from conception to handover. You will co-ordinate the delivery of multiple housing projects and oversee the work of colleagues in the team, whilst taking a lead as the Council’s Housing Client. We are seeking an experienced professional with proven ability in the following areas: site assessments and assembly; staff management; engaging residents; planning applications; procuring and managing technical consultants, housing design and construction; financial appraisal and viability; building regulations and sustainability.
In addition, you will have knowledge of: preparing bids for funding, writing briefing papers, governance processes, budget monitoring, liaison with key stakeholders and funders, delivery teams and developers.
