About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
What You’ll Be Doing
We have a big vision for Housing Services where we will work deep within our neighbourhoods and communities to improve our services with people who use and rely on them and we are looking for a Housing Allocations & Voids Service Manager who’s dynamic and proactive to help deliver this ambition.
You will lead the housing allocation transformational programme, redesigning the allocations and voids service for more efficient, resident-centred operations. The Service Manager ensures the delivery of first class lettings, allocations, and void management while meeting organisational goals and statutory obligations. You’ll develop and manage policies, improve processes using business intelligence, and set performance targets. The role also ensures fair allocation of council housing and provides advice on housing demand in line with the Council’s housing schemes and quotas.
All About You
We’re looking for someone who can bring Camden’s ambition of being the best place to live and work alive with their enthusiasm and passion for housing equality. You will believe that everyone deserves a safe, warm home and a sense of belonging in Camden’s community.
You’ll bring with you solid experience of managing people and services in a busy, target focussed housing environment. It’s essential that you have an understanding Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII along with the ability to draw upon relevant housing caselaw, as well as an understanding of the Council’s Housing Allocations Scheme and ability to mitigate challenges to the scheme.
You will be proactive, addressing problems and creating change early, rather than reacting to it. You ensure services are accessible, transparent, and tailored to residents' diverse needs, going the extra mile to help or find support. With a caring approach, you listen and prioritise residents' concerns, finding fulfilment when they do.
