About the role:
Over the past ten years, the Highways and Traffic Management Department have delivered the highly successful and award winning Enjoy Waltham Forest Programme, aimed at radically changing our neighbourhoods by placing active and sustainable travel at the heart of everything we do.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Street Lighting Infrastructure Manager to help deliver the Council's key goals. The successful candidate will work within the Highway Network Management Team to manage existing light assets consisting over 16,000 lamp columns and 3,000 illuminated street furniture. In addition, the successful candidate will also help deliver a manage the implementation of an LED upgrade programme and the Council's flagship lamp column electric vehicle charging programme.
The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge and experience of current practices, materials, specification, legislation and codes of practice relating to highways maintenance and management including developing asset management strategies and future work programmes.
Also, you are expected to possess excellent communications and personnel management skills and have detailed knowledge and experience of civil engineering project management and contract administration.
The role will require developing a close working relationship with elected members, residents and businesses in managing the aspirations of local communities in relation to the highway network.

Key Responsibilities:
To manage the operational delivery of a wide range of Street Lighting Infrastructure, including planned, routine and emergency call out maintenance, safety inspections, festive lighting, electric vehicle charging, asset management services and the management of technical, financial and procurement procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Educated to degree standard or equivalent
Relevant professional qualification
Knowledge of Highways Act 1980, IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 and lighting design software
