The Role
Are you a Gas Safe Registered professional with a passion for ensuring the safety of gas appliances and systems? Do you have extensive experience in managing gas compliance works and contracts within a social housing environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Gas Technical Officer.
As a Gas Technical Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and compliance of all gas appliances within Camden's entire property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Provide specialized advice to colleagues and contractors, ensuring all matters within the service's functionality are reported comprehensively.
- Inspections and Compliance: Undertake detailed inspections of gas appliances and installations, authorizing urgent or emergency works, and ensuring all appliances comply with regulations and professional codes of practice.
- Safety Advocacy: Take immediate action to secure unsafe appliances, report potentially dangerous issues, and contribute to future appliance replacement planning.
- Collaborative Leadership: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to policy development, service planning, and participating in projects and audits.

- Gas Safe Registered: Your commitment to safety is demonstrated through your Gas Safe registration.
- Technical: Hold ACS (7no modules) or equivalent, showcasing significant experience in managing gas compliance works/contracts in a social housing environment.
- Continuous Development: Demonstrate evidence of continued professional development, keeping your knowledge up-to-date with legislation and best practices.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, ensuring clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Budget Management: Experience in managing revenue and capital budgets, approving costs from contractors, and monitoring performance against KPIs.
