The Governing Body of Edith Kerrison Nursery School and Children’s Centre is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Deputy Head Teacher with SENDCo responsibility to support the Head Teacher to build on our current success and lead the school to continue to deliver our aspirations for the children and the school. We have been established as a Nursery School for nearly 100 years and together with our Children’s Centre we are at the heart of our diverse and vibrant community. We are committed to serving our children and families to give them the best possible early year’s education and care. Achieving results together so all can flourish is central to our culture.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced and dedicated leader with a proven track record of leading whole school development ready to take on this role with passion and commitment
  • Be ambitious for our school with experience of raising outcomes for children, including disadvantaged children and those with SEND
  • Value each child as an individual and have a strong commitment to inclusion and SEND provision as well as other vulnerable groups
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse range of partners to give our children the best start in life that they deserve.
  • Be able to value and inspire all staff and manage others effectively
  • Be a knowledgeable, creative and inspirational Early Years classroom teacher committed to ensuring all children achieve and flourish.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership to realise a shared vision for our children working in partnership with the Head Teacher
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with the whole school community
