Schools ICT Support Technician - Salary - £36,567 - £39,951pa

Purpose of Role

⦁    Manage and maintain multiple school networks daily on site and remotely using remote tools.
⦁    Managing LGFL services including emails and shared mailbox’s and other services offered.
⦁    Detailed fault diagnosis and resolution via ITIL processes.
⦁    Carry out required monitoring, logging and reporting tasks and take action on known errors and documented workarounds, logging such actions and advising management when specialist attention is required.
⦁    Apple school manager setup and deployment to control and manage the school’s apple devices.
⦁    Google for Education setup, management, and deployment across the school.
⦁    Hardware repair for School equipment. Diagnose and fix hardware related issues when required by the school. Includes Desktop PCs, Laptops, Chromebooks and the server hardware.  Responsible for fault finding the issue and escalating to manufacture.
⦁    Carry out routine tasks associated with installation, maintenance, operation and control of the installed hardware and software including externally hosted and cloud services.
⦁    Manage the rollout of SIMS via SOLUS3.
⦁    Manage LGFL support issues including school remote access.
⦁    Implementation of software supplied by schools or 3rd party companies.
⦁    Manage Antivirus for all schools and inspect/act on any outbreaks reporting to management or Head Teacher where necessary.
⦁    Manage Wi-Fi systems in schools and ensure latest firmware is applied and Guest accounts are accessible for BYOD.
⦁    Manage/Advise and keep up to date all latest platforms including Microsoft, apple and google services.
⦁    Managing school “School Protect” firewall settings on behalf of schools, safeguarding children in a school environment.
⦁    Inspect, troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure in the event of hardware failure.
⦁    Take ownership of problem calls that are affecting the service availability on key systems in the Council Service area, working independently to identify the root cause of the incidents and applying an appropriate permanent fix to the problem.
