Role Purpose

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers, who are deployed to work alongside various partners that support the Community Safety Partnership. The team is responsible for providing a high visibility front line response to Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Substance Misuse, also dealing with other issues such as Environmental Crime, Unlicensed Street Trading and NOX.
The Role:
You will manage the day-to-day work of the team working to an agreed shift pattern, ensuring that there is an effective task management process in place to carry out the activities allocated to the team by the partnership agencies through joint tasking meetings and provide feedback on the outcomes and results.
You will lead and coordinate the service response in planning operational activity in response to pre-planned and emerging issues.
You will work closely with the police and legal officers to maximise the appropriate use of the full range of enforcement mechanisms to tackle ASB.
You will ensure that all activities undertaken by the team are in accordance with the Council's Health & Safer and risk management procedures.
Requirements:
· You should have experience of managing a team working in a public or voluntary sector setting in an enforcement capacity.
· You should have experience of working with people of all ages and diversities including members of the public.
· You should be able to demonstrate evidence of effective partnership working, in particular working with the Police.
· You should have experience of supervising remote workers with due regard to Health and Safety Issues.
· You will be required to work to a 24 hour flexible shift pattern or other shift pattern as directed and to carry out any other duties of a similar nature, commensurate with the grade, as may be required.
To be accredited officers under the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) using designated powers from the Metropolitan Police.
This role requires staff to successfully pass the Metropolitan Police Non-Police Personnel Vetting and the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) powers. Failure to maintain this accreditation (whilst employed by the Council), may lead to the termination of employment.
