In Croydon, we have 780 children and young people who are being looked after (503 Croydon children and 277 UASC). We have a focus on the creation and maintenance of permanence for our children and young people to achieve ‘permanence’ for Croydon’s Children in Care and young people (primarily through adoption, special guardianship and long-term fostering but also including some children who will return home to their parents).
We are seeking three Team Managers to manage our Children in Care (Croydon) teams. We are committed to doing things differently, taking into account current research and best practice, and are looking for managers who want to be part of this journey.
We are looking for experienced team managers capable of working in an operational manager role that have a particular skill with managing Social Work staff. With working knowledge of national policy, strategy and developments regarding children’s social care, and children in care you will be able to demonstrate your social work management practice.
You’ll allocate children’s cases, shape and influence safe practice, demonstrating confident analysis and decision making, ensuring practitioners receive reflective, challenging and explorative supervision to enable informed decision-making for children and young people.
Your compassion and drive will enable you to effectively engage with staff and partners, supporting them to build relationships with children, young people and their families to create change.
With a salary up £51,453 per annum and a retention offer of £2,000. We can offer a development& learning programme to support your management and leadership skills.
