About the Team:
The Vulnerable Children’s team leads on Youth and Play services, Children's engagement and participation, the Holiday, Activities and Food Programme (HAF), UASC mentoring Programme, and services for Children Looked After (CLA). We are an inclusive team who support each other to be solution focused placing children and young people at the heart of what we do.
About the role
The post holder will be expected to have knowledge and experience of working with Sanctuary seeking children and young people, youth and play services, community engagement and stakeholder management. They will lead on the implementation and delivery of UASC mentoring Programme, and lead on the commissioning of Youth and Play services in a politically sensitive environment.
The post holder will lead all phases of the development and commissioning cycle for children’s services, creatively drawing on a wide range of resources and assets across the partnership, organisation, and community to ensure that both the council and the CCG’s strategic priorities as set out in the Children and Young People’s Plan are delivered.
About You
If you have passion and drive for improving the lives of children and young people have knowledge of the challenges facing Lambeth’s young population whilst having strong experience of commissioning, this could be the role for you.
You will be able to hit the ground running and work at pace whilst being flexible and adaptable within a small but busy team. You will also have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills to effectively manage the day-to-day demands of this challenging but rewarding role.
To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:
- Educated to a minimum of Degree Level or equivalent standard or evidence of continuing professional development.
- Awareness and understanding challenges facing local government
- Awareness and understanding of issues, challenges and opportunities children and young people are facing in Lambeth.
- Experience of Commissioning.
- Experience of Community engagement and stakehholder management.
- Ability to lead on complex projects, write reports and manage finances.
