Sandringham Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring classroom teacher. The successful candidate will have an ethos that matches the school's purpose, vision and values. This provides many opportunities to develop in a supportive and nurturing environment. The year group teams learn, plan and support each other to make sure our children leave each stage of their education ready for the next. The school will support you as you enter the teaching profession. Your ECT mentor is a supportive colleague who is there to build on your training year and plan for your future professional learning. The ECT programme you will be part of is run by UCL.

Duties:
The Class Teacher will:
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
- Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment
- Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
- Fulfil wider professional responsibilities:
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
- Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues, knowing how and when to draw on advice and specialist support
- Deploy support staff effectively
- Take responsibility for improving teaching through appropriate professional development, responding to advice and feedback from colleagues
- Communicate effectively with parents with regard to pupils’ achievements and well-being.
- Implement agreed school policies and guidelines;
- Support initiatives decided by the Head Teacher and staff;
- Plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through differentiation of tasks;
- Be able to set clear targets, based on prior attainment, for pupils’ learning;
- Provide a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils;
- Keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning;
- Report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils;
- Participate in meetings which relate to the school's management, curriculum, administration or organisation;
- Communicate and cooperate with specialists from outside agencies;
- Participate in the performance management system for the appraisal of their own performance, or that of other teachers.
