What You’ll Be Doing
An exciting opportunity is available for an Anatomical Pathology Technologist, to join the well established and friendly mortuary team at Camden Council. You will be taking responsibility for delivering a full range of mortuary activities and take personal responsibility for the undertaking of duties related to admission, identification, and safe storage of deceased bodies for post-mortem in accordance with the services procedures.
This is a varied role blending high standards of post mortem care, supporting clinicians and other professionals along with maintaining all requirements to ensure the HTA regulations are upheld. You will assist pathologists with post-mortem examinations, including high-risk and forensic cases as and when required.
Additionally, you will work with other teams such as the community safety and emergency management to assist with the development and testing of emergency response plans and facilitate viewings and police identifications in conjunction with the Coroner’s Office.
All About you
You must have a Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technician or equivalent APT qualification and have demonstrable experience of working in a mortuary setting. Experience in high risk and forensic post-mortems would be welcomed.
You will have good technical knowledge of mortuary policy, procedure, and human anatomy. As well as a good understanding of health and safety legislation and working in compliance with SOP and HTA guidelines.
You will be a resilient individual, you will have the ability to deal with difficult situations and manage sensitive information securely. You will have the ability to take an organised approach to your own workload, working individually and as part of a team, whilst dealing with conflicting priorities and ensure a customer service focussed approach.
