An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our busy Finance Team.
This is an exciting time for the London Borough of Redbridge; we are at the heart of regeneration and change in East London, with unprecedented investment in the area expected in the next few years and Cross Rail will open new opportunities for new homes and jobs. We benefit from excellent transport links across London and Essex and our offices, based in Ilford, are only 9 minutes from Stratford and 18 minutes from Liverpool Street, in the heart of the city.
The Council has moved away from traditional accounting and towards professional services, quality assurance and accelerating pace.
The Senior Finance Officer is an important part of the Council, helping to develop solutions and further innovation to meet any challenges the Council may face.
Key responsibilities include;
- Providing strategic and technical advice to senior managers.
- Taking a proactive approach in managing and delivering financial and management accounting services.
- Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for business improvements and efficiencies.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that robust financial controls are in operation, and that financial risk is understood.
- Ensuring a culture of continuous looking to constantly adding value and inspire success.
- To be suitable, you must be a qualified finance professional, or part qualified with extensive experience, with a positive attitude and substantial experience of gained in a complex financial environment, including budgeting, monitoring, year-end closure, financial modelling and planning.
