An Adult Social Care & Health strategy guides the way we support residents with care needs, working with them to maximise their strengths and maintain their independence as well as safeguarding people from harm. Our large and varied provider market is critical in helping us drive forward these ambitions and our adult social care improvement plan has been developed to help the council deliver high quality adult social care in Croydon.

Croydon Adult Social Care & Health is transforming.  We are embarking on a period of change and improvement which presents a unique and career-defining opportunity to for the successful candidates to make a difference. We want to build on our strengths to design and deliver high quality, person centred Adult Social Care services that promote independence and are cost effective. However, in an environment where demand is rising, inflation is high and there are changes to national policy, we need to change how we work to continue to deliver high quality, person-centred services.

We are looking for 4 experienced and dynamic Senior Project Managers to join our fast-paced Improvement team. The successful candidates will be reporting to the Programme Manager on the delivery of the Strategic Managing Demand transformation programme which is aligned to our 2024-27 Medium Term Financial Strategy. The role depends on close partnership working and excellent communication, therefore your inter-personal skills are fundamental to the role. You will work with a range of stakeholders of varying seniority and experience from across the Council and One Croydon Alliance, often having to translate complex information to audiences of differing backgrounds.

You will be required to help realise the benefits required of the programme, including driving forward changes to how we deliver adult social care in Croydon; improving practice and  commissioning opportunities, ultimately helping implement a new operating model which contains our expenditure to within the council’s available resources; whilst delivering our statutory services.

  • The post is offered as a one-year secondment to existing employees, or a one-year fixed term contract to external candidates.

  • Dependent on the success of the programme there is expected to be the opportunity for a 12month extension to the role.

  • The post requires substantial evidenced experience of project and change management delivery within a health and social care.

  • You will need an exceptional understanding of social care and health delivery and policy.
