Job Title: Research Officer
Team: Research and Evaluation
Directorate: Communications, Policy and Research
Salary: £34,395 (London salary) per annum
Full time/Fixed term contract (until 31 March 2025)
Location:Hybrid working with a minimum number of days in attendance at our London office in line with the Commission’s policies

Who we are
The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections, and encourages people to register to vote.

Job Description
This is a fixed term position in our research team with responsibilities including:
•    Undertaking and supporting research projects that draw upon a variety of methodologies; 
•    Analysing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data, reporting and dissemination of research findings on time and to high quality;
•    Acting as a focal point of expertise on issues that may include party finance, political campaigning, the electoral registration, administration of elections and further aspects of the electoral process; 

Role Requirements
You’ll need to have knowledge of research methods and some experience of undertaking research studies that use a variety of methodologies.
The ability to build relationships and to represent the Commission is important as is solving problems effectively, using judgement and thinking creatively
You’ll need to be self-motivated in order to take ownership of your work, and you will be a helpful colleague - supporting the work of others and contributing to work across the organisation. You will be able to develop new skills and apply for training opportunities as well as get involved in things that interest you in the wider Commission.
