Adult Social Care Financial Assessment Income Maximisation Officer

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated and committed individual to join the Financial Assessment team within the Resource Directorate.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing the financial affairs of clients who are eligible for Residential, Community Based and respite care services to determine their ability to contribute towards the cost of the care being provided in line with the Care Act 2014. This post will work with Adult social care service users of all ages with disabilities, dementia, mental health issues, sensory impairments, older people and their families and other customers both in Council offices and during home visits.
The successful applicant will need good customer service skills and a working knowledge of welfare benefits.
The volume of work within the department is reasonably high so an ability to manage conflicting priorities will be essential, as well as strong numerical and IT skills plus excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure the best interests of our clients are managed at all times.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate their ability coping with large volumes of work in a systematic and methodical way.
