About the role 


The Housing Options Service is looking to recruit a Housing Options Team Manager (SAT) who will be responsible for leading and managing the service area that covers the complex homelessness assessment team, statutory homelessness reviews teams, and the housing advice team who deal with private tenants threatened with homelessness. You will also be the lead for the service with the Council's Legal Department dealing with judicial reviews and other legal challenges. You will oversee the service area, providing best practice service delivery and maximising clients' full range of housing options. 

You will lead and manage partnership working to provide efficient services to customers and partner organisations and monitor performance and outcomes in relation to the Legal Team and develop improvement strategies and manage and shape the business through robust service reviews, strategic planning, negotiation and influence, developing and implementing service improvement plans.

 

You will have good leadership skills and experience of managing a team in a public sector organisation. Confident and experienced, you will be comfortable managing a team working under high demand, ensuring staff remain motivated and equipped with relevant expertise. You will possess in-depth knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation as well as related laws and case law. You will have sound appreciation and understanding of financial systems and of successful budgetary control and a background of achievement in a senior management role within a relevant field.
