Engagement Manager - Hounslow Borough Based Partnership
About Us
Hounslow is looking for a passionate, experienced and innovative engagement specialist to ensure its communities shape its health and care services.
This is a key role in the delivery of Hounslow’s Borough Based Partnership’s (BBP) priorities to support its communities to live healthy, happy and connected lives. You will ensure there is effective and representative engagement across the BBP’s programmes so resident, patient and stakeholder voice is at the heart of its decision-making and demonstrably shaping the improvements local people want to see.
Hounslow is one of the country’s most diverse boroughs. Home to 288,000 people speaking 188 different languages, it stretches from Chiswick in the east to the home counties to the west, and has a broad socioeconomic mix. Its communities face a wide range of health and care challenges, but there are great opportunities to improve our residents’ wellbeing, and meaningful engagement is central to that.
Hounslow’s BBP is a coalition of Hounslow Council, the borough’s hospital, mental health and community health trusts, and primary care networks. As a key member of the BBP Communications and Engagement workstream, the Engagement Manager will lead on key projects, as well as provide advice and guidance to partner organisations on effective, coordinated and outcomes-based engagement practices.
Naturally collaborative and an effective networker, you will need to lead and inspire colleagues from across different organisations, fostering a positive organisational culture that good engagement is everyone’s business. You will need a broad knowledge of effective engagement practices, and the creativity to design new ones to suit circumstances and reach target audiences.
You will also have a key role in promoting a culture that embraces equality, diversity and inclusion and strives continuously to reduce inequality in health and care access and outcomes for all Hounslow residents.
This is an exciting time to join a borough ambitious to improve the health and happiness of its communities and shape a role which is crucial to achieving these ambitions.
We welcome diversity and we are an equal opportunities employer. We recognise the diversity of Hounslow's communities and we are particularly keen to hear form candidates who will improve our own diversity and strengthen our ability to reach all residents.
Please submit your CV and cover letter explaining why you’re a strong candidate to Ben.Knowles@hounslow.gov.uk. Your cover letter should be no more than two sides of A4, Ariel 12pt.
