Senior Policy Officer

There are 2 exciting opportunities available within our Strategy and Change directorate for two Senior Policy Officers (PO6), available for a 12 month fixed term contract.

As a Senior Policy Officer you will play a key role in the development and delivery of the Council’s ambitions, working closely with senior officers and elected members.  You will work on strategic priority programmes, providing high quality policy advice, and help to develop new and exciting approaches to support the Council in tackling cross-cutting challenges.   

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work across a wide range of subject areas on high-profile, cross-cutting pieces of work that affect our residents. These include emerging work to address key challenges around health inequalities, the cost of living emergency and other emerging strategy and policy related work, such as the continued development of our corporate strategy and approach to 15-Minute neighbourhoods.

To be successful in this role you will have a positive, can-do approach, be resilient, highly motivated, and able to work with agility in a pressurised political environment. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work creatively and positively to find solutions to problems.
