Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

Redbridge is a borough with exciting opportunities and a strong demand for development recently enhanced by the opening of 4 Elizabeth Line stations across the borough. We need to proactively manage the investment being made in the borough to deliver a significant amount of new housing and supporting community infrastructure, drive economic growth to encourage local businesses to thrive and create a place in which people are proud to live, work and visit.

The team have worked to transform the service over the last three years to meet the challenges faced by unprecedented growth in the borough and were named Local Authority Planning Team of the Year in the National Planning Awards 2020, The Planning Team of the Year (Public Sector) in the RTPI London Awards for Planning Excellence 2021 and won Best Council Service Team at The Municipal Journal (The MJ) Awards in 2022.

The opportunity
