Working across Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster Councils in a Shared Service agreement, our Fostering and Permanence Service takes a creative, collaborative approach to supporting placements and creating positive experiences for carers and children.
Focused on providing post order support to children and their Special Guardians, you will engage directly with parents and carers as well as children and young people. This will include identifying and sourcing support services including therapeutic support and making applications for funding through the Adoption Support Fund. You will also take part in training programmes for Special Guardians and organise events for Special Guardians and children.
It’s a key role within our Fostering and Permanence Shared Service that contributes to quality life for children and young people while reducing reliance on independent agencies. We’re looking for a qualified and experienced social worker with good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and permanent planning for children. You’re likely to have some experience of special guardianship or adoption processes. Outgoing and resilient, you’ll be capable of dealing firmly and tactfully with a wide range of people, sometimes in difficult circumstances. You must be capable of organising and prioritising a busy and varied workload. Good negotiation skills are essential to deal with the financial aspects of the role.
