We’re looking for someone exceptional who wants to make a difference and strives in a challenging environment. If you have a proven track record of providing an excellent responsive repair and void surveying service within the housing sector, combined with the natural ability to build relationships with contractors, stakeholders and consultants, join us as a Maintenance Surveyor.
In this exciting role, you’ll be front line assessing, identifying solutions and instructing works for responsive repairs covering sites across Kent & Sussex including taking corrective action where necessary and reporting regularly to the Senior Maintenance Surveyor on progress.
You’ll analyse and assess building defects, provide remedial proposals and prepare specifications for remedial repairs. You’ll ensure that specifications are up to date and meet current legislative standards. You’ll carry out Health & Safety spot checks and monitor contractors to ensure they are working safely and complying with all relevant Health & Safety risk assessments and method statements. You’ll ensure work is carried out within the budgets and value for money is achieved, by monitoring and reporting on performance.
You’ll continuously identify ways of delivering the service in a more efficient and effective way, suggesting improvements procedure, processes and quality control.
What you’ll need
The successful candidate will have ideally worked for a Housing Association and/or Local Authority in a similar position carrying out responsive repairs. You’ll have experience of working with contractors using SORs and non SORs contracts. In addition you will need:
- Competent knowledge of relevant and current codes of practice, building regulations, health and safety legislation, standards and materials.
- Extensive experience with building surveying within Housing.
- A proven track record of contract management responsibilities.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
