Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Community Social Work Team based at Station Road in Barkingside for an experienced and dynamic Practice Manager. We are looking for a confident and aspiring Practitioner who may already be practising at this level or looking to sidestep into another service area to expand their social work skills.
The Community Social Work Teams are at the forefront of innovation (Spotlight and Sahara- Domestic Abuse interventions) and strive towards maintaining outstanding social work practice. The highly experienced Team Managers offer hands on support with career progression including Firstline Training and fully support our in-house training and management programmes. As a service we are dedicated to progressing your career development and will ensure that you receive protected time to support you in attending training identified for you so that you can undertake your role confidently and successfully.
This role would suit someone who is confident with complexity and able to provide effective direct line management to 2 Senior Practitioners, 4 Social Workers and a family support worker. The team is a busy and a challenging environment where there is a culture of continuous development, learning and improvement to maintain our Outstanding standards (Ofsted: 2019). The team is committed to ensuring staff have manageable caseloads, and as a Practice Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that performance and quality is balanced against the demands of the service.
You will be required to have a detailed understanding of the Children’s Act, relevant legislation policies and procedures, thresholds as well as working with complex cases where children are subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plan where long term care planning is key. In addition to this, you will have a full understanding of Legal Planning Meetings (LPM’s) Public Law Outline (PLO) processes and working knowledge of cases in proceedings and those that are subject to Section 7,37 and Supervision Orders. You will be SW England registered and have a recognised social work qualification.
Interviews will be held face to face week commencing 3rd October 2022 at Station Road, Barkingside.
