The London Borough of Redbridge is seeking to appoint a Team Manager for the Court of Protection, Appointeeship, and Public Funerals Team.  The team is located within the People Directorate and is pivotal in managing the financial and property affairs of vulnerable adults within adult social care services.  In addition, the manager will be responsible for the line management of an experienced officer who leads on the protection of property and public health funerals. 

We are looking for a manager that is experienced and has a good understanding of Department of Work and Pensions Appointeeships, Court of Protection rules and processes, and Section 46 of the Public Health Act. 

The successful candidate must demonstrate:

  • A strong customer focus approach
  • Great leadership skills to take the team forward
  • Train and develop staff and other internal colleagues
  • Manage finances of clients and internal budgets
  • Experience in the preparation of Office of the Public Guardian accounts
  • Knowledge and experience of IT systems
  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation

You will be responsible for creating a new team, the recruitment of staff, and developing new policies and procedures.    

To be shortlisted for this post, experience of working with the Court of Protection, Office of the Public Guardian and the Department of Work and Pensions is desirable.  If successful, you will be asked to prepare a presentation as part of the interview process.
